NEW FOR 2009

The First Annual Downtown CHRISTMAS MARKET, on Dec. 5th, in the covered parking area adjacent to Memorial Peace Park, was a huge success! This timing was planned to coincide with the annual Christmas Festival and Santa Parade which will go down 224th Street and by Memorial Peace Park.

Festive decorations will be setup. All local businesses have the opportunity to participate at a discounted rate. This one evening market will attract customers to our downtown area from within Maple Ridge and from surrounding communities.

Nearly 2,000 people enjoyed doing some early Christmas Shopping, ate roasted chestnuts, had some apple cider, participated in the “festive golden bell hunt”, were entertained by a Barber Quartet and just loved the “Christmas Spirit” in the air! Look for this event next year, if you missed it!

Location: covered parking adjacent to Memorial Peace Park.

Cost: $15 for members ($25 non members)

Please contact our office for more information, or to register your business and reserve your space. For your convenience, a DMRBIA business member participating in the market is offering to share, at no transaction cost, use of their mobile credit card payment service (contact BIA for details).

At 6:00 pm the Dazzling Santa Parade starts and the magic of Christmas lights up Downtown streets for all to enjoy.

How to participate: (1) participate in the Christmas Market, ....or (2) extend store hours, serve hot chocolate / hot tea / hot cider, hand out festive treats (candy cane, seedling tree, doggie treat) attached to your business card, play Christmas music from your store, present a children’s activity, or you may have some great ideas yourself?
