Downtown Businesses Annual Food Drive to Support Friends in Need Food Bank

September 28th to October 31st

Last year, our downtown businesses came together to collect an incredible 1,900 pounds of food for Friends in Need Food Bank. Based on Food Banks Canada’s current national impact measure of approximately one meal for every pound of donated food, that means our community helped provide the equivalent of 1,900 meals for people in need right here in our community.

With rising food costs, more families, seniors and individuals are relying on food banks for support, making community donations more important than ever. From Monday, September 28th to Saturday, October 31st, we’re encouraging the public to help us make an even bigger impact by donating nonperishable food items to Friends in Need through our participating downtown businesses.

If you’re shopping at your favourite downtown business or have nonperishable food you’d like to donate, check out the list below for participating members where you can drop off your donation.

Every donation helps us support our neighbours and put more meals on local tables.
