Poetry and Photo Contests Open for Earth Day

The annual Earth Day poetry and photo contests are open for submissions, inviting creative minds to submit their work on the theme “Water, Water, Everywhere.” The winners will be announced at the celebration at Memorial Peace Park on Saturday, April 18, and their work will be presented at the event.

Police and Partners Target Distracted Driving

March is Distracted Driving Awareness month, and Ridge Meadows RCMP will be joining their Road Safety partners in assisting in a province wide traffic enforcement campaign.  Police, ICBC, and the Volunteer Programs, including Speed Watch and Auxiliary Constables will be on the lookout for drivers who are distracted while driving.  The main focus is cell phone usage, but other distractions include MP3 players, like an I-Pod, GPS, or the car stereo.
